What is IPL and what will it do?
IPL is an Intense Pulsing Light in which we are able to penetrate a few layers deep into the skin to improve many skin conditions and reduce any skin blemishes that may have been caused by sun damage, pollution, makeup and grim. Increase collage, reduce redness, fine lines and completely improve skin texture and tone.
The whole process is quite easy and has no down time. You will feel heat in the treatment area as the energy targets specific areas of the skin to rejuvenate and promote healthy growth of collagen and skin cells.
Once every 4 weeks recommended to start
Minimum 3 sessions recommended
No down time (Should avoid prolonged sun exposure)
30 Minute Lunch Time Treatment
(1hour option available)
How many sessions and how often will I require to receive?
It will depend on the skin but a minimum of 3 + regular maintenance sessions are recommended. Most benefits of an IPL treatment occur gradually in the weeks following the treatment and often, multiple treatments are necessary due to the fact that skin consists of many different layers where it takes time to renew and replenish. The more you receive, the better the skin becomes and easier the maintenance becomes. Regular time between treatments is recommended at 4 weeks to once a season.
Am I a good candidate?
With our Luxor IPL machine, we can treat IPL treatments up to skin type Number 6. A patch test will be put to use for every client to confirm the safety of your skin. Our professionals will also help you decide on what the best option for your skin will be if more concerns arise.
Things to keep in mind before and after treatments.
IPL treatments do make skin more sensitive to the sun. Therefore, it is recommended to avoid prolonged sun exposure 1 week prior and 2 weeks after treatments. It is also recommended to stop the use of any skin products that may cause irritation to the skin (e.g., retinol) 2 weeks prior to the treatment to prevent sensitization of the skin.
